Field Notebook

I walked out the building and you could see the children running around in the park. It was a bright sunny day and I could feel the light breeze. I walked down the block towards riverbank state park and up those wretched stairs that leads to the entrance of the park. As I walk into the park, I see mothers with their carriages and teenagers getting ready to play basketball, while group of children are using their scooters. As I keep walking over the bridge to go into the park I see the cars on the highway underneath me passing by quickly. I continue to walk into the park and I see the handball courts and the baseball field, both filled with active players. I keep walking towards the railing that overlooks the Hudson River. I can see New Jersey from where I stand and I keep walking around the edge of the park admiring the water and all the park has to offer, like the football field and the track surrounding it. I walked towards the exit that leads me to 145th and once I reach it, it feels like I left nature’s tranquility and entered the cities’ chaos. My walk is over and I wait for the Bx19 and head home.

Hey I used to play baseball in this field. The basketball court is very famous for it's tournaments.
