What to read for Monday, 09/08

Dear Students,

Welcome to Contemporary Urban Writers. Here is what you need to do for Monday's class:

1. Once you've created your Blogger profile, make sure to add a photo of yourself so that we can get to know each other's names.
2. Read Walt Whitman's 1856 poem, "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry." Print out the poem before you read it so that you can annotate while you read. Make sure to bring a copy of the poem to class with you.
3. Post a reading response to the course blog by Sunday at 8pm.
