Assignment for Monday

Dear Students,

Thank you for your collective thoughtful presence in class -- you all helped to make the meeting with Professor Di Iorio rich and illuminating. For now, if you plan to do the extra credit review for Outside the Bones on Amazon.com, get started with that. The grading will work so that if you do the extra credit, it will replace one missing blog post assignment, like a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Tomorrow I will post the reading for Monday. It will be a shorter assignment than what we've done in the last couple of weeks.

EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
If you've liked Outside the Bones and have some thoughts about it that you'd be comfortable sharing online, post a review to Amazon.com. It doesn't have to be lengthy---a minimum of 3 sentences. Just make sure that you're not simply saying "this book is great! I loved it!" Rather, include some observations that are specific to your experience of reading the book. Think about how you related to it, what you liked about the author's style, what you learned from the narrative, etc. Please complete the extra credit assignment by October 6th.
